Cabinet card photograph documenting a railroad pass issued by the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway Company. The image reproduces the pass itself, which is addressed to C. N. Hunsell and dated Chicago, Aug. 25, 1893, authorizing travel from Chicago to Cedar Rapids and return. The pass references the Continental National Bank, Chicago, Ill., and bears signatures associated with railway authorization.

The photograph is mounted on a cabinet card bearing the imprint Robinson & Roe, with studio addresses listed as 77 & 79 Clark Street, Chicago and 54 West 14th Street, New York. The mount also includes the printed notice “Duplicates can be had at any time.”

Photographic reproductions of railroad passes and documents were occasionally produced for record-keeping or personal documentation. This example provides a clear visual record of a late nineteenth-century railway travel authorization connected to one of the major Midwestern rail systems of the period.
