Lady Lethbridge, identified by the Western Newspaper Union caption as one of England's titled women devoting her full time to Red Cross work, is shown in a three-quarter studio portrait in full Red Cross nursing uniform in this gelatin silver press print dated September 16, 1918. The photograph was distributed through the Western Newspaper Union under caption number S 63099 and carries their standard usage notice on the reverse.
She stands in a slight three-quarter turn facing the camera with a composed expression, wearing a white Red Cross apron with the large black cross emblem at the chest over a grey nursing dress with tied sleeve cuffs, and a white veil and cap. One gloved hand rests on a dark surface at left, and a ring is visible on her right hand.
The caption identifies her as prominent in British Red Cross work and notes she is giving all her time to Red Cross activity, placing this image within the Western Newspaper Union's ongoing series documenting British civilian and voluntary contributions to the war effort in the final months of World War I.
The image measure 7 1/2 x 6.
