Two real photo postcards document unidentified bear handlers with trained animals in street and coastal settings, likely dating to the early twentieth century based on dress and postcard format. The first image shows a man in a flat cap and dark coat raising both arms while three black bears rear upright around him on a commercial sidewalk, two of the animals tethered by a chain looped to a street pole. The second card depicts a large brown bear standing fully erect on a sandy beach, gripping a vertical pole with both paws, while a handler in a suit and brimmed hat holds the lead rope nearby and a second figure with a bicycle stands at a distance in the background.

The onlookers, including a woman in an elaborately trimmed hat and a man in a wide-brimmed felt hat., observe from the sidewalk, with storefront awnings and commercial signage visible behind them. The beach image captures the bear at full standing height against an open ocean horizon, its claws visible on the pole and its muzzle apparent in profile.

Traveling bear acts were a recognized form of street and fairground entertainment during this period, and the pairing of these two cards suggests they document the same or a closely associated act photographed across multiple locations. No photographer's imprint is visible on either card.
