Palestine, Ohio railroad station telegraph office in this real photo postcard, postmarked March 11, 1911 on the Pittsburgh and Chicago Railway Post Office line. The image was sent from Sebring, Ohio, and the front bears a handwritten inscription identifying the subjects as telegraph operators at the E. Palestine R.R. Station. The photograph was addressed to Mr. F.J. Bruder, 153 Washington St., Salem, Ohio.

Two Oliver typewriters sit prominently on the table alongside what appears to be telegraph equipment, and a small dog rests between the machines at the center of the composition. The men wear waistcoats, bow ties, and four-in-hand neckties typical of the period, and several adopt relaxed, confident poses with crossed legs and arms draped over chairs. Hats and bags are scattered on the floor beneath the table, and pigeonhole shelving and a stove are visible in the background.

The Pittsburgh and Chicago R.P.O. was a Railway Post Office route operating between those two cities, and Sebring and E. Palestine are neighboring towns in Mahoning County, Ohio, situating this image firmly within that regional railroad communications network.

The reverse carries a handwritten message reading in part "Here is the bunch" and "I am getting along fine now in teleg. Can tell nearly all the calls now," along with the catalog notation "ex14."
