A stereo daguerreotype of a seated gentleman, beautifully framed by Broadbent's signature backdrop. The pairing of the vivid portrait with the dimensional effect of the stereo process exemplifies the artistry of early photography. Housed in a Mascher's Improved Stereoscope case, patented March 8, 1852, the case bears Broadbent's name and address imprinted, adding to its provenance. The images display some tarnish around the edges of the mat but remain sharply focused. The stereoscope case is in very good condition, preserving the integrity and historical significance of this extraordinary piece.
