Group of ten mid-19th century cased daguerreotype portraits, each housed in full hinged cases with gilt mats and velvet or silk interior liners. The images depict men, women, and children posed in formal studio settings typical of the 1840s–1850s daguerreian period. Several are single sitter portraits while others include paired subjects such as mothers with children or family members seated together.

The sitters wear period clothing including coats, cravats, dresses, and children’s garments. The cases display a variety of embossed velvet pad designs and mat patterns common to American daguerreotype presentation, with decorative gilt frames surrounding the plates. The group includes a mix of plate sizes and case styles, illustrating the diversity of early cased photographic portrait formats.

All photographs remain housed in their original protective cases with intact hinges and interior pads. The lot represents a solid group of early American daguerreotype portraits suitable for collectors of nineteenth-century cased photography.
