Lot of four albumen carte de visite portraits dating circa 1860s to 1870s, including examples bearing imprints of identified women photographers. Subjects include a seated young woman posed beside a draped table with books, an oval vignette portrait of an older woman, a young child seated at a checkered table, and a seated man wearing a tall hat.

Photographer imprints visible on the mounts include Mrs. Robinson, Photographer, corner Main and Madison Streets, Peoria, Ill., with printed note Duplicates can be had at any time; and Sarah Granger, Main St., Brockport, N.Y., with printed text noting duplicates furnished at any time. The remaining mounts are printed M. S. H. Dowdle, Belvidere, Ill., and Meisel & Engel, Photographer & Ambrotype Artist, Galena, Ill.

Mounts feature printed studio advertising and decorative typography. One verso bears a penciled notation reading Woman Photographer. Several mounts include penciled dates and inventory markings.
