A wicker and rattan parlor chair is photographed as a product or trade document in this CDV by Watson & Brummit's New Gallery, 164 Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, a companion piece to a high chair card from the same studio and almost certainly produced as part of the same furniture catalog or commercial commission. The consistent studio setup, lighting, and mount stock confirm these as a related pair documenting different pieces from the same maker or retailer.

The chair is a low barrel-back parlor chair with a deeply curved continuous back wrapping around to form partial arms, the back woven in an open diagonal lattice pattern with a braided dark cane trim along the upper rim. The round seat is tightly woven in a radiating pattern of contrasting light and dark cane, and the base consists of four splayed bentwood legs joined by a central wrapped crosspiece. Decorative curved cane elements are visible beneath the seat apron. The chair is photographed at a slight angle to show both the front and the depth of the curved back.

Together with the high chair from the preceding lot, this card represents a rare documented example of Victorian-era furniture product photography in the CDV format, produced by a Detroit studio that apparently served at least one wicker furniture manufacturer or retailer as a commercial client during the 1870s or 1880s.

The reverse bears the printed imprint of Watson & Brummit's New Gallery, 164 Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, with the notation "Entrance in the Store," and penciled notations reading "No 25," "51," and additional figures at upper left.
