A composite photograph displaying six configurations of the Smith and Traver Kid Glove Showcase and Preserver fills the face of this albumen advertising carte-de-visite, with a full printed price schedule and product description covering the reverse, distributed by Lewis Coleman and Co., Agents for Boston. The card carries the notation "Patent Applied For" on both the image and the reverse, dating it to the period before the patent was granted. A female shop clerk is photographed at center demonstrating the largest size case in use at a counter, giving the advertisement an unusual documentary dimension alongside its commercial purpose.

Seven distinct views of the show cases are arranged across the image face, numbered and lettered to correspond with the size chart on the reverse. The cases are wooden display units with glass tops, labeled "Kid Gloves" on the front panels, with rows of white porcelain knob-pull drawers beneath for organizing gloves by color, black, and white and opera categories. The clerk at center handles gloves at the open top of a size 5 case, the largest unit visible in use.

The fully printed reverse carries a complete size and price chart for six case configurations ranging from size 1 at twelve dollars to size 6 at fifty dollars, with dimensions, drawer counts, and glove capacities listed in full. The agent imprint reads Lewis Coleman and Co., Agents for Boston, with the notation "Your orders solicited" and terms of net cash in thirty days. A pencil notation reads "3D" at the upper left.
