Cabinet card portrait showing a seated woman surrounded closely by three young girls in an intimate studio grouping. The woman sits in a dark dress while the children lean toward her from both sides and behind, creating a compact composition typical of family portraiture in the 1870s.

The mount bears the imprint J. Bogardus, 872 Broadway, cor. 18th St., New York, a well-known photographic studio of the period. Bogardus was associated with high-quality cabinet card portraiture in New York during the late nineteenth century, and the image reflects the soft lighting and carefully arranged poses typical of the studio.

The reverse carries an early handwritten identification reading “Queen of the European Princesses with her children – Taken around 1875.” While the exact identity referenced in the note is unclear, the inscription dates the photograph and suggests the sitter may have been a notable or locally recognized individual. The back also bears the notation “Helen Giorgi Collection.”
