Group of stereoview photographs depicting the construction and structural framework of large rigid airships. Several views show the interior skeletal structure of the U.S.S. Akron (ZRS-4) during assembly, revealing the complex network of metal girders that formed the rigid framework of the dirigible. Other stereographs depict completed Zeppelins positioned inside massive hangars where their scale is emphasized by the surrounding scaffolding and support structures. The images show both interior construction views and finished airships ready for operation.
