Silver print photograph measuring 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" showing a rare studio scene of a woman photographer operating a large bellows camera while a female sitter poses before a painted backdrop. The photograph dates to about 1890–1910 and depicts a professional portrait session in progress, with the female photographer adjusting the camera while raising one hand in a gesture suggestive of directing the sitter or preparing the exposure.

Images documenting photographers at work are scarce, and examples showing women actively operating studio equipment are especially uncommon. The scene provides a detailed view of a professional studio camera mounted on a wheeled stand, along with typical period accessories and painted scenic backdrop. Such images offer valuable visual documentation of photographic practice and the presence of women within the profession during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

The mount bears a faint manuscript inscription on the reverse including the words “Robert …” and “Florence …” with an address that appears to read “Redbank Avenue,” and a date written as 4/6/10. The photographer and subjects remain unidentified.
