Two stereoviews of Franklin D. Roosevelt, both published by the Keystone View Company with offices listed in Meadville, Pa., New York, Chicago, and London, document the thirty-second president at pivotal moments in his political career. The first card, numbered 32790, identifies Roosevelt as the Democratic presidential nominee at Chicago, Illinois, and shows him in profile before a large American flag draped against a curtained backdrop. The second card, numbered 32535, depicts him as President of the United States at his Washington, D.C. executive office desk.

In the first view, Roosevelt stands in a dark suit with a boutonniere, mouth slightly open as if mid-speech, his hands resting on what appears to be a lectern or chair rail. In the second view, he sits in shirtsleeves and dark jacket, pen in hand, leaning forward over a paper-laden wire mesh document tray with framed prints visible on the paneled wall behind him.

Roosevelt was nominated at the 1932 Democratic National Convention in Chicago and went on to win four presidential elections, serving from 1933 until his death in 1945. The Keystone View Company was among the most prolific producers of documentary and educational stereoviews in the United States during the early twentieth century.
