Large cabinet card photograph showing a group of men and boys assembled in front of a substantial brick commercial building with a balcony above the entrance. Several well-dressed men stand in the doorway and on the balcony while a line of uniformed boys and adult men flank the entrance at street level. A policeman stands near the doorway while others in uniform stand at the curb.

Storefront windows display painted advertising including “B. Middlebrook Plumbing and Gas Fitting.” Large illustrated posters for Hood’s Sarsaparilla appear on columns beside the entrance. A sandwich board sign placed at the doorway reads “Matinees Wednesday & Saturday.” Cobblestone paving and streetcar tracks are visible in the foreground.

The mount reads “Betts, Artist.” The reverse bears the imprint Betts, 356 Main Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut. Cabinet card photograph, late nineteenth century.
