Cabinet card portrait depicting three young female triplets posed side-by-side within an oval vignette. Each girl wears a matching dress and necklace and has her hair tied with large bows, creating a carefully coordinated studio presentation.

The printed caption beneath the image identifies the sitters as “Ida – Iva – Eva, The Famous Hanna Triplets.” The photograph presents the children as a novelty attraction, a common practice in the late nineteenth century when multiple births were widely publicized and exhibited. Their father had them each wear different color ribbons in their hair so he could tell them apart. They worked for Ringling brothers and the A.B. Marcus Musical Comedy group after they learned how to dance. They stopped performing at age 20 when they started getting married.

The mount reads “Weedy, Photo Artist, Linton, N.J.” Cabinet card photograph, late nineteenth century, identified example of the Hanna triplets.
