Group of seventeen mid-19th century cased photographic portraits consisting of tintypes and ambrotypes, each preserved in full hinged cases with gilt mats and embossed velvet interior pads. The portraits depict a range of sitters including men, women, and children posed in formal studio settings typical of the 1850s–1870s period. Several images show individual portraits while others include paired sitters and family groupings.

The cases display a variety of decorative mat patterns and velvet pad designs common to American cased photography. The images represent several plate sizes, with the largest example being a quarter plate, and include portraits of adults and children dressed in period clothing such as dresses, jackets, and waistcoats. The group illustrates the transition from ambrotype to tintype portrait formats during the later nineteenth century.

All photographs remain housed in their original protective cases with intact hinges and interior liners. The lot provides a varied assortment of cased ambrotype and tintype portraits suitable for collectors of nineteenth-century photographic material.
