Two Indigenous subjects stand in full-length studio poses wearing elaborately decorated ceremonial dress in this albumen CDV by Bowers of 204 Market Street, Lynn, Massachusetts. The presence of a three-cent U.S. Internal Revenue proprietary stamp affixed to the reverse dates the image to the 1864 to 1866 tax-stamp period for CDVs. The ornate imprint on the reverse frames the studio attribution within a floral cartouche.

The woman at left wears a layered garment adorned with beaded heart and cross appliqués, geometric border trim, and fringe at the hem, with drop earrings, multiple strands of beadwork at the collar, and a feathered headpiece. The man at right wears a heavily ornamented coat with fur panel, densely studded leggings, a beaded belt, tassel trim at the sleeves, and a tall feathered headdress, holding a short handled object at his side. Both subjects wear beaded moccasins.

The reverse bears the handwritten catalog notation "c500" in pencil at the lower left, the Bowers studio imprint, and the affixed three-cent revenue stamp.
