A carte de visite (CDV) features a portrait of Ephraim Fisk, a lieutenant in the 1st New Hampshire Light Artillery Battery, taken around 1865. The sitter is shown in uniform, with rank insignia visible on the shoulders, reflecting his service during the Civil War. The photograph was produced by D. O. Furnald, a prominent Manchester, New Hampshire photographer, as noted on the backmark. The reverse of the CDV includes a 2-cent U.S. revenue stamp, canceled and dated “March 1865,” confirming its authenticity and placing it within the Civil War era.
