F.M. Yeager of 433½ Penn Street, Reading, Pennsylvania produced this albumen carte de visite as a promotional image for his gallery, assembling studio props, decorative objects, and a display of his own photographic work into a single composed advertisement for his services. The reverse reinforces the intent, printed with the bold heading "Prices Reduced" above his studio imprint. The format and mount style are consistent with the 1870s.

A large classical campana-form urn planted with foliage dominates the upper center, set on a pedestal above a framed grid of twelve oval portrait medallions arranged in three rows, almost certainly a selection of Yeager's own portrait work displayed as samples. At left, a small wooden tripod supports a funnel or flask beside a dark glass bottle. A porcelain or bisque figural charioteer group occupies the center foreground, flanked at right by a small white bust on a damask-covered table. Two adjustable articulated metal stands extend into the composition from both sides, and a draped fabric panel hangs at left.

The reverse is printed with "Prices Reduced" above the studio imprint for F.M. Yeager, with a handwritten negative number 9469 and the notation "Duplicates Retained." A penciled notation reading "Lot" followed by partially legible numbers appears at the upper edge.
