A panoramic view of the Moscow Kremlin taken from across the Moskva River is recorded in this albumen print cabinet card by the Moscow studio C. Siou & Cie, with the reverse inscribed in pencil "Moscow, April 1883." The wide-format composition captures the full sweep of the Kremlin's south wall, towers, and interior structures in exceptional detail. The elaborately printed front mount bears the bilingual studio imprint in Russian and French alongside exhibition medal awards dated 1865, 1878, and 1882.

A stone bridge crosses the Moskva River in the foreground, with a wooden waterside structure and moored boat visible at lower left; the Kremlin's crenellated white limestone south wall extends across the middle distance, punctuated by triangular-roofed towers. Behind the wall rise the Grand Kremlin Palace at left, the golden domes of the Cathedral of the Annunciation and Cathedral of the Archangel at center, the tall Ivan the Great Bell Tower, and the Spasskaya Tower at right.

C. Siou & Cie was among the most prominent commercial photography studios operating in Moscow in the second half of the nineteenth century, producing topographic views for the tourist and souvenir trade alongside portraiture, and earning exhibition recognition across multiple international expositions as reflected in the medal devices on the mount.

The plain reverse bears a penciled inscription in an English hand reading "Moscow, April 1883."
