Albumen cabinet card portrait of Capt. Adam H. Bogardus with three of his sons, photographed at Eisenmann’s Bowery studio. The group is shown with their rifles and wearing multiple shooting medals and cartridge belts, underscoring their prominence on the exhibition and competitive trap-shooting circuit.
Bogardus (1834–1913) was one of the most recognized American wing shots of the late 19th century, touring widely and performing with William F. Cody’s “Buffalo Bill” organizations. His sons often appeared alongside him in tournaments and exhibitions, and portraits of all four together are notably scarce.
Printed studio imprint along the lower mount. The image shows general toning and scattered spotting but retains good clarity across the sitters and their equipment.
